Boot Lock

my bloody boot lock has broken the key is in locked position but wont turn i have opened it from the inside to have a go at fixing it but failed its closed now and still in lock position. just wondered if anyone else had this problem and solved it i know its quite common as it happened to my first sri then my second one came with a different key and now this one :mad:

perhaps its just an sri thing my sr one works fine and its the oldest and done the most miles

Has the lock broke?
Or has it just seized slightly, get some wd40 sprayed inside the key hole.

if all else fails take the lock apart. its a simple mechanism. my lock got blocked up with polish a few years ago

/\/\/\ Just strip down the lock barrel. Clean the individual 'slides' inside & the n put back together with a little light oil or grease.

The original grease probably resembles ear wax now (ie crap).

cheers guys will have a go at the weekend when i have some light. just hate taking bits apart no matter how careful i am i always manage to scuff or mark something plus the ****y plastic cover will probably snap anyway!!:mad:
