a couple of ideas

Just thought I would run past a couple ideas I've got for my car with you lot to see what you all think.

First off, its a mk2 version, 3 door and red at the moment. Once I've sorted out the rust I'm planning on fitting some GSi or GTE side skirts and painting those satin black, the car will be resprayed in a lovely metalic purple... main reason being... I've already got the paint!
Will also have a white vinyl roof and I can't make my mind up on the gte wrap round spoiler or the GSi one, having spoken to "sri_boi" he thinks that the GSi spoiler would look better but I'm still kinda at 2 minds about them both and am unsure what would look best.
Front bumper wise I'm ether going to keep the standard one or go for a GSi replicar or maybe get a standard one from the scrappy and chop it, extend it down, fill over where the towing eye comes though and fit in fog lights... so does anybody have any pics of something like a gsi bumper with fogs to show me?? would really appreciate it if you do!
Then, as for wheels I'm planning on referbing hte old 14inch ronal alloys off my old mk2 astra in a shiny silver or mirror polishing them and then painting in the holes of them satin black and then lowering it between 40 and 60mm and will also tint the windows too.


What do you all think, anybody have any better ideas? I want to keep it nice and subtle, don't want to smooth the boot as its impracticle... just after a nice subtle look that may turn a few heads.

If its a Mk2 then i'd say you'll be better off just fitting a std GSi kit, it'll look less tacky IMO, GTE / GSi skirts are the same by the way.

Before someone else says it ''its your car, do what you want'' but what you have planned sounds really good. If you can get a work in progress thread going in the projects section, if you plan to do all this should be a really nice nova:thumb:

yeah... I think it'd look really cool and different and have never seen it done before on a nova... some may say reason for this being because it looks ****, but I think it'd look pretty neat and also mean it'll never fade and will protect from the rust.

I like the GTE wrap round spoiler, but like you guys and also sri_boi said, the GSi one would probably suit it a bit better.

I foudn this pic which looks like the car has fogs... have those been cut into the bumper or can you buy it off the shelf like that?

hmmm... doesn't look too bad, but i personally think rectangular ones would look better... would compliment the headlights a bit more... or could go for the old rally look with big ass round spot lights coming out the grille??

definatley gsi spoiler on a mk2 mate, the white vinal on the roof is a first that i have heard of but think you should do the wheels white if u are going down the vynal route, as for the colour looks nice :)

fair enough, I was thinking white wheels at first with the holes picked out in black and the griffin on the centre cap white also!

Was just thinking in tearms of a front bumper... how about an astra mk2 gte front end chopped to fit the nova? It comes as standard with fog lights and quite a nice looking bumper imo and seem to be going dirt cheap! when I had my old astra people were giving the things away for free!!!

Sorted a few bits now.... getting the GTE spoiler, GSi skirts and also lowetring 50mm all sound

not the wheels I'll be using though... they were just simple to do, will be using the ones from my old Astra SRi and have painted one of the centre caps and think it looks pretty good so will be doing the rest soon.
