hey i was just wondering how compatable the vauxhall gearboxes are and more specifically will a 14sr box fit the x16xe 16v engine? if not, what will and whats the best choice?

In my limited Nova experience, I found that an SR gearbox(F10) won't fit onto any other block, only the NZ? block. Seem to remember that the starter position was also slightly different.

You will need an F13 or F15 box, the F15CR(Close ratio) box has the best ratios. If you fit the F13 box you may have to fit a GTE flywheel aswell as the X16XE is a pot type iirc.

a F10 won't fit.

btw, with a little adjustments, you can fit a F13 on a C20XE

yes this is true i have done it i probs know ur all going to say its a crap idea but mine seams to be fine and has worked for the last year
