normal flickering light syndrome, any alternator/battery advice greatly appreciated, but on a tight budget. i was considering an alternator off a cavvie/astra, and an uprated battery.
i've also been told that if i use direct feeds from the battery to the headunit it would help a lot. i'm not after a show stopping system, just a half decent one.
comments please

running two amps with one 10" sub and 6x9's (i can hear the groans already!!)

urgh 6 by 9's i got told that a vauxhall nova td has a bigger battery init and the alternator supplys more power because it is a diesil, and slaps right on to any nova engines. please correct me if am wrong someone because i was gonna go for that set up myself :)

I have a Nova TD battery, was a bitch to fit due to the alarm siren needing to be relocated, but if you don't have a siren located in that area then you'll fine, as for alternator try looking for one from a higher spec model.

Just go for a Cav 1.8 alt as its 70A output, then either a battery for that or anything in that region.

Are the lights flickering when the sub is working? Might be worth investing in a power cap.

But aye, new battery - from almost any vaux derv, I had a cavalier one in my old hatch - would be wise, especially in winter as the cold has a habit of killing batteries.
