Was just wondering how easy are ball joints to fit. Because i think mine a knocking and i dont really want to give it to a garage to do. plus i havn't had time to take the wheel off and have a look yet, due to working.
Any help would be great :thumb: cheers

Very easy, only three bolts each !!
Check though that the knocking is not your CV joint/s on their way out. Is the knocking worse when you are turning - if so I would suspect a CV joint. Ball joint would be a knock when going overa bump, etc. due to the play in the joint.

Cool was a bit worried then. i dont no a think about mechanics, give me body work any day :)
you need a jack, a 17 or 19mm socket + breaker bar
with wheel off
usually a 13mm spanner + socket for the small bolt in the hub
then 2* 19mm bolts to get the joint off.
V easy.
If yovue not got a haynes manual then you a) need a slap and b ) need to buy one lol

CV joint won't be a 10min job tho and certainly not as cheap as a ball joint!

Hardly a 10 min job for a novice mechanic or when the bolts havent shifted for sometime.
A CV joint even more daunting.

Probably be cheaper to get second hand drive shaft complete with joints and also save the mess with grease , fiddly circlip, etc. in fitting a new joint. ?10 - ?15 should get you a complete shaft from a breakers. You need to suss which one it is first !!!
If it's worse around LH bends then RH shaft/joint.
Worse around RH bends then LH shaft/joint.
Hope I got that right but I'm sure one of the experts on here will comment soon enough lol .

instead of the fiddly circlips zip ties work a treat.
