red top reving problem

wen car started it revs to 2500 and the only way the revs will drop is if u unplug the air mass meter. I have fitted another meter but still does it. can any1 help?:(

maybe your icv is ****ed or mite be the coolant temp sensor thats fuced

fitted new airflow meter and went a run< was all going fine then it started doing it again.

Idle Control Valve, it controls your idle speed.

would the ICV make a difference if the air mass meter unplugged, also were is the icv

icv is under inlet manifold, follow the hose(bout inch diamiter) from right side of sfi box/power cap its connected to that. remove it and clean with thinners or wd40 or both, even if that aint the prob it,ll make car drive much better once prob solved
