Had a quick search through but couldn't find what i'm after, basically will a 1.3 head bolt straight on a 1.2 block? Anyone done it before? And which cam do i use, 1.2 or 1.3? which gasket?
Could i use a gte cam to gain abit extra? Ta!:thumb:

Use the gasket that fits the block(1.2)

But the 1200/1300 heads are basically the same apart from 1200 head having slightly different compression ratio.
So i'd just fit a 1.2 head, unless you have already have a 1300 head lying about.

Use whatever cam you want.
1300 cam is better than 1200.

Cheers ad, basically enquirng as someone i know may purchase my irmscher injection and a 1.3 head i have, to fit his totally standard, good condition 1.2. I don't think i have a 1.3 cam and carrier though.
Iirc the 1.2 head inlet ports are the wrong shape?

1.2 carb are same as 1.3 inlet ports.

I'd just tell him wack the irmscher injection kit onto his 1.2 head.(If its a carb engine)
It'll work fine.

Sweet! wonder how much extra this would give on a 1.2 with a better cam? Which cam did you have in your 1.2?

I had a 1.4Sr cam in mine, but it was a 1.2i which has a ****e cam as standard.

Well, if the system gave about 15bhp ish on the original 1.3 engine, i'd say the gains would be quite similar on a 1.2.
With a few extra bhp if they fitted a 1.4sr cam.

Irmscher fitted the injection system to Opel Corsa Sprints in Sweden iirc which were a 1.2 due to strict emmissions laws etc over there.

yeah they did do it to a few 1200's, might get standard 1.3 power with the 14nv cam thrown in.
