Im not sure if i should have posted this in the "insurance" forum as im not asking about quotes or companys etc etc.
here we go....
After my little smash new yrs eve ive been a little worried as ive been careless with updates to my insurance with mods, the person that hit me is going to inform her insurance company as the quote that she has for her car is too dear to handle personally. on a more posative note my quote was cheap as chips and im not botherd about claiming, therefore will any insurance companys need to view my car? even tho she admits being at fault?? do i have anything to worry about? (remember im not making a claim!) thanx

p.s: after all this drama is over im going to declair all my mods as i should have done allready. there no point in putting this stuff off as ive lerned!

When my hatch got rear-ended, I took it to a garage of my choice and an assesor from CIS (who covered the other guy) came to look at it, but didn't seem to give a toss that it was modified. Admittedly HIC had it listed as modified but nothing specific - just said "it has a bodykit, wheels, suspension, exhaust, that sorta thing" when I took the policy out lol

When the celica was repaired, it didn't even have a proper assesor look at it, but that was at a registered garage. They weren't bothered about anything I'd changed on it - DV, couple of styling bits, and interior changes - or whether they were covered on my insurance or not.

Both were cases where the insurance companies were paying out to cover the cost of my car repairs though. In your case, it depends what you're doing - are her company paying out to repair your car (iirc she hit you, yes? So she's claiming from her company to cover your costs as well as her own) in which case they will want to inspect it; or are you repairing it yourself privately in which case they shouldn't need to inspect your car.

Well if she hit you and she has said its her fault then let her insurance cover the repair to your car mate.
**** putting your hand in your pocket for her misstake!

if you dont try to claim, it shouldnt be necessary to see your car... they'll just look at hers if she wants hers repaired. You'll have to provide an incident report though probably.
