Thinking about swapping my engine, theres nothing wrong with the one thats in there but i just want summat with a bit more poke!

It currently has a 1600sv engine from a cav in there and i was thinking about maybe a 1.4sr lump or maybe a gsi lump.

Question is, how hard is it to change an engine?
what do i need to do to change from carb to injection setup?
will i notice much difference?

I need summat that is reliable, good acceleration and not too bad top end.

All help much appreaciated!

If your engine is o.k why not try an uprated cam and bigger carb???

Because i just fancy summat a bit different, either a tuned small block or an injection engine, just wanted to know the difference it would make really!

Not worth the bother, stick with what you've got mate, spend the time and money improving that, like i said before^^ decent cam, better carb:thumb:

fittinng the mpi 1.6 8v from a gte/gsi will instantely give you (nearly) 100bhp... the 16SV is a really really awfull engine compared to the mpi, so its not work camming etc..

1.4Sr engine is a downgrade... Less power.

Get hold of a gte/gsi head, inlet, loom etc from a e16se engine.
Fit that if you want injection. You'd need tank, pump etc too tho.

Or fit a 16se head and t40s....
