6.5 would be better with a tyre size of 195/45.

I've got 15 x 7 Team Dynamics on mine with 195 / 45's without any probs, if they fit ok & don't rub then whats the problem ?
What offset (ET) are they ?

Extra unsprung mass that is useless.......

More likely to curb the wheels as the tyres wont stick out as far etc etc.......

lol

You aint exactly gonna save loads of weight having a rim thats 1/2" narrower, and as for kurbing them its only an extra 1/4" thats gonna be sticking out !!

1/2" narrower isnt jus bout saving weight its about not battering front or back arches. That is if they rub.

Not necessarily, my 18x7.5 Kazeras are lighter than the std fitment 16x7 alloys lmfao

I personally wouldn't go any wider than 6" on a Nova otherwise they drive awful.

If hes got a 7" wide rim and it doesn't catch then theres no need in changing it for a 6" or 6.5" rim, your not gonna notice any difference when driving !!

You still haven't said what offset (ET) there are, if there any less than ET45 then yeah they'll scrub !!
Mine are ET45 15 x 7 with 195 / 45 / 15's, front arches are untouched & the lip on the rear arch is folded flat, mines also on coilovers & even on the lowest setting they don't catch !!
