Ive recently put a weber onto my car and as the weber doesnt have a fuel

return, what do you do with the return hose? At the moment ive just put a

bolt into it! Would you connect it to the fuel inlet with a T-juction?

Photos would be a big help!:thumb:

Yes. T it back into the feedline.

If its T'd into the feedline tho, most/some of the fuel feed from the pump will just go straight back to the tank...?

I would get a fuel pressure regulator(just a cheap one from Burton power, about ?20), use that on the feed line.
And leave the return line blocked with a bolt and jubliee clip.

The car that carb came from (89 SR) had a return line to the tank & the return was T'd into the feed.

Who fitted the carb tho?

If it worked fine tho, fair enough.

yeah as i didnt know alot about webers i got abit confused with the T-junction, so i took it out! if i placed a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel line which on would you recommed? what are the inline ones like?

on my old sr it had the t piece fitted after the pump, ive just recently fitted a weber to my newest sr, i just blocked off the return for the time being, doesnt seem to make a difference although i need the carb mixture setting up along with the choke , dont think this would be affected by the return thouh

Out of these to fuel pressure regulators which one would you recommend?

Also would it just control how much fuel go's into the carb?

i cant see why youd need a fuel pressure regulator on a 1400 using standard pump and a weber - none of the ones ive seen have had them fitted, ive got one for my 40's but im running a facet pump and need one, none of my sr's have had them though

I have a reg from fastroadcars on e-bay fitted to mine with the return pipe blocked off with a bolt. The standard mechanical pump only just gives enough pressure on my engine, but that might be down to the piper cam I have fitted having a different profile on the fuel pump lobe.

Yep, that would do the job fine/\

And is cheap to buy.

^^
correct, vacumn advance wasn't connected in that pic, so I just connected the two vac ports together. Didn't idle very well though so ended up blocking one off and connecting the other back to the advance unit.

Thats how it is set up now. The vacumn connection at the rear of the carb has been blocked off using the rubber end of an old vac pipe with a small bolt covered in silicone pushed into it.
