Was checking out some batteries today as my current vaux one rated 44Ah has trouble starting my car after 24 hours of not driving it.

Came across this beauty:

Bosch Silver Maintinanece free
12v
75Ah
720A (EN)
4 Year Guarantee

Price - ?55

My current alternator is a 45Amp original Nova 1.2 item. My bro has kindly given his spare new Cav SRi alternator rated 70amps, for ?20 http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif

I know the battery is rated a bit higher then the alternator so will it be able to charge the battery properly, or will the battery eventually die quicker coz of this? I had a look around but could not find a 70Ah battery that would fit my Nova tray.

These I believe are better then the halfords batteries I have seen, cheaper, reputable company and also the power figures are good, Im quite sure the 720A is the CCA rating, yummy http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

Opinions? http://www.migweb.co.uk/forums/images/smilies/beer.gif :thumb:

It will be fine.

The alternator rating doesn't have to match the batt rating.

Ok mate thanx :thumb:

I take it the 70Amp alternator would be better to use then the original 45Amp one on there now.
