WTF happened to their values! About 6 months ago the average price of a Lotus Carlton was about ?17k for a sh*tter, ?20k for a decent one!
Thats the local one to me as well. Guy used to live in Yeovil, then moved to Wells. There's a website (probably defunct now) about it too, somewhere. [edit] lmfao shows how observant I am, he's linked it in the ad lol
Hmm... Wonder if I can blag a test drive :D

it seems a fair price as they dont lose that much money in that condition if only i could afford it.
as jack said the crap ones are the high end of ?15K usually.
i was talking to a chap whos got a lovely condition one round here and he was saying that perfect examples would go for 17K +

Would love to have that, better still i would love to have a go in one, being a passenger would do !
i thought they went for around the 8-9k mark, not 15k !!
I've never seen a LC go for 8-9k, and 15k is cheap tbh for one in that condition!
As said 20k was/is normal for a mint example..

Very nice, im sure there was a corsa not so long back with one of those engines in, think it was in total vauxhall.

that corsa was a lie, someone photo shopped it, plus i reckon the carlton crewm would kill yuo in your sleep if you killed one for the engine. Its not like a cav turbo, lmfao

You have saved me there phil, so I wasnt just seeing thingslol
The engine would be worth more than the car, in fact the car would probably devalue the engine lol
I could see a Carlton owner buying the corsa just to take the engine OUT of it lol

I dont think the carlton owner would be buying it, more like confiscating off a naughty child.

OMG i didnt know they were worth that much, about a year ago near where i lived there was one for sale for ?5,000 which i thought was cheap went to speak the owner and it turned out that it was this womans son but he had died and she didnt want it to go to waste so she sold it for ?5,000!
I have seen a couple of "rough" ones go for around the 8-9k mark.
IIRC they were high mileage ones, or cars that'd just been ragged too much and needed TLC. Probably still in damn site better condition than most other 2nd hand dated vauxhalls.

**** me Nicks back!!! lol ;)
^ lmfao random lol
I've seen a couple replicas go for cheap. Well, cheap for what looks to be the Lotus, but expensive for what is actually a 24v Carlton lol
Philsutton

lmfao thats all the lotus carlton is anyway, a 24v carlton with some go faster turbos and that.
I love the LC, but TBH, i would now rather save a bit more money and buy a Monaro. Theyre N/A for a start, which is better (heh heh, im baiting Mr Sutton), theyre also quicker, and newer so wont be as difficult to maintain.
Id only consider a LC if the price dropped below 8K for a minter, i honestly dont think theyre worth that much money for what they are. Your paying for the legend, not the car IMO.

I was going to say your gay, but its a V8 and they rule.
Especially the supercharged VXR 500!
500 bhp!
That makes a LC look like a corsa SXi lol

true but its still hauling some serious ass lol
Tis true, shes a heavy beasty! But the lotus wasnt light either!
The 6.0 Monaro VXR is 1677kg, compared to the 1663Kg of the Lotus Carlton... not a lot in it! ;)
