just got hold of one has anybody used one if so how do you think it performs i used it to set my 1.2 up an it was running very rich it now runs perfect and i get a perfect burn right through the rev range so cheaper fuel bills for me now :D

ive seen um in halfords do they really work or is it a gimmick wat do u do put it on ur spark plug the play round wiv the mixture on ur carb or carbs as i av 40's

no you take the plug out and put the colourtune plug in and then you connect your plug lead to it it fires like a real plug and you can see the mixture burn, too rich is yellow, you are looking for a deep blue that goes a lighter blue as you take the revs up slowly. full instructions are included how much in halfords mine was ?12 and yes you play with the mixture to set it up

If you play with twin 40's you'll need two vacume gauges to balance them spot on

You dont need two, just one and make sure both sets of carbs read the same. Thats the easy bit. Gettin the mixture right either takes time. A colourtune plug sounds like a good way of getting a rough guide to mixture, not spot on like a CO analyser. Its just a lot cheaper.

how can you get equal pressure in two seperate carb's with 1 gauge? lost me there

A synchronometer, mesuring one, then the other and adjusting until both read the same when it is fitted over trumpet. I`ve done it loads of times and its far easier than the old pressure gauages.
