hi, i am wondering what the best primer/paint to use on my nova is. I am wanting to spray the crossmember/front panel with something to stop the rust coming through again? Also what primer should i use to undercoat the body panels etc? I will be using 2k paint. What excact (paint code)colour is this nova as it will be getting painted the same colour? Any help will be much appreciated.
Cheers

Primer is pourus so that wont prevent rust, you can buy 2k paint ready mixed in certain colours far cheaper than special order colours, think the pre mix ones are:
Vauxhall Flame Red
Ford Radiant Red
Ford Diamond White
Vauxhall Glacier White
Ford Genitian Blue
MG Black
The Black is a 99% match For the Vauxhall Black, trust me i did some bodywork on a K reg SRi and its what i used;)
You can buy a litre off ebay for ?10,near enough for the front panel:thumb:

Spraying any paint over rust is a bad idea... it'll be a short term fix and look cack.
You really need to rub the affected areas back to bare metal.
Cut out any rust there is... treat with kurust etc just to make sure and then use an acid etch primer on the bare metal before and then paint.

it is a brand new front panel on it so what should i spray on it to try and preserve the rust coming through again?
