After reading the other post on number plates it got me thinking,so i went on the dvla plate search and found these available plates for you:) :

What car is it going on because you cant put that on anything made before september 98

I know of the reg no. VAU 999X but it was on a massey ferguson Combine Harvester that got exported to estonia.
You can't swap combine, digger & tractor plates onto cars, it is something to do with mot tests.

Mate of mine had A13 SPT on his Sport & when I sold my Sport the guy that had it put B13SPT on it.
I wanted C4RBS for my Sport as RBS are my initials & it reads CARBS ;)
Unfortunately its already on a car somewhere :(

You can't fit a newer reg to an older car; for example you couldn't fit a K-plate to an originally J-reg car.

because your car is pre S reg, you cant make a car appear to be newer than it is. 2nd hand values etc otherwise someone could buy a 51 plate beemer and stick an 06 plate on it and sell for more!

Because it will make your car look newer than it actually is. I take it that its going on a Nova GTE, in which case it will be an F, G or H reg. These reg's were issued 1988-1991 iirc and S reg was issued in 98 so its too new!
