high miles

hey ppl,
ma wee sri has got some funny amount of miles on the clock and i want to know what i/garage can do to fix it eg rebuild or would it be worth it to just try and buy as good a conditioned one as possible, mod it then put that in, what would be the least expensive way ov doin it

oh yeah, would my insurance compant consider the car as havin a transpant or will they not bother as long as its the same size engine

i asked my insurance company that very question... they reckon they would have to send someone out to inspect the work on it and make sure...
so as long as you dont try and bullpoo them i suppose you will be ok.

my j reg 1.2i had 204k on 4 years ago

that is quite high mileage ste...
and i was concerned when my merit passed the 60k mark...:D
but since then your 1.2i has had some magic worked on it hasn'tit ste... now your car is faster than any other 1.2 in the world i reckon... maybe because its not a 1.2i, i dunno...

lol the 204k was on my old 1.2i back in 1997 when it was 5 years old
my van had 170k on it
current k reg 1.2i/2.0 16v has got 150k ish miles on it

what i mean is - how do you make the car last that long... you know... nova - prone to falling apart and rusting at the slightest hint of winter...

yeah but his high milage means newish car with high miles not a b reg rot box with high miles.

lol my p reg vectra has 138 000 miles ;)
