Fitting a 4-1 will allow it to rev more freely and possible give a few more bhp at maximum rpm but it isnt worth it with the torque that will be lost at the mid range, especially when this is what a 8v engine is good at!
Im still using a standard cast manifold with Gp'A' downpipe on my 1.6 8v which has about 165bhp. The only restriction on the standard downpipe is the collector at the bottom.

They seem to be able to undercut everyone,a lot of big suppliers have said that he's selling at not much above what they're buying for...
I think thats were the girl that had the Nova i've now got had most of the bits from,i think the corbeau sprint seats were ?170 inc vat, which is 20% less than anyone else lists them for,i'll find out how much she paid for the sabelt fia belts, cage and dural guard next time i see her.
Yeah EuroRallye look identical to my ashley manifold and system.

so will a 4 branch be any good on a 1300 sr, or just replace the standard ones
end of the day its horses for courses like many other things. I know alot that use the standard setup and swear by it, but i also know alot that dont lol
I personally prefer my 4-1, but then i dont have anything like the ashley one and run a btb one. I only claim 140bhp from my engine and its not built for revs, so it gets its gogo (facts and figures) from somewhere, i'll let you do the math lol

I thought on the smaller block engines its best to use a 4-2-1 manifold dont know if iam right. But i heard bigger engines work a bit better on the 4 into 1's:confused:
