manifold and down pipe question

I was just wondering should there be a gasket between the down pipe and the rest of the system. I have one between the manifold and down pipe. just somtimes i thinks its blowing from were theres no gasket.

yes there should be a doughnut style gasket on the system side which goes in to the countersunk side of thedown pipe, i think.
