Hi, i know im new here but i wondered if i could get some advise from everyone,

basically my 1.4 engine in my nova, is all but dead, so im going to replace it with a gte engine i have found.

the question is, what do people advise i replace while the engine is out of the car, so that it is going to last for as long as possible and be reliable?

thanks in advance

you will need the fuel tank, pump and lines aswell

reliable - it will only be as reliable as the owner, oil change, service's, driven correctly ;)

Depending on which 1.4 engine it is, you may not need pump/tank

would be best to give it a cambelt, oil and water change, as long as it hasnt done a million miles that shoud be enough!

just have a look around the engine whiles its out to check for any obvious faults/leaks! cv boots joints etc!

If your using a engine and gearbox of unknown origin/history i would always fit a clutch kit, cambelt kit, cheque water pump whilst doing cambelt, plugs, oil and filter!
