After cormac got the Raffinos, i just had to try them on my Nova. The rear would need some slight arch work (just trim the lip by about 2mm) apart from they are a good fit.

Very nice, but too big for a Nova in my opinion.

Look like they have been looked after well & stood the test of time.

Needs lowering lol lol lol

Its 50mm springs. Could go lower but i dont think it looked that high. Andy Jeffers black nova looked like a monster truck when he fitted these.

Another reason not to have 17''s. All the work getting the car low & reducing the COG is undone when the physical size of the wheel puts it back up again.

It does look amazing as a static showpeice however.

The wheels need a good clean and polish but they're in super condition... would anyone know when these rims were made bound to be 10 years ago now?

It'll be getting softstars in the next few weeks.

I agree with Craig Green, too big for a nova, makes it look strange.

Softstars will suit it much better.

I would, you'll regret it when there all gone and people up there second hand prices again!

Why even pay ?100 for a second hand kerb'd set when you can get new mint ones for ?240!

wonder how much they'll be worth 2nd hand in a few years if kept in original packaging ??

Adam

Could do with buying a few sets and leaving them in the loft for about ten years...
Lol

Bet it would handle like a pig with the 17's on it.
Good choice on the Softstars, I had a set on my Corsa Sport and they were the best wheels I've ever had. The quality is superb and they are dead easy to keep clean. Always fancied a set of the Chromestars, dont think I've ever seen a set over here.

looks crap imo, only reason they were popular back in the day was because they were available in suitable offset, hardly a nice design of wheel.

The more i look at the pictures the more happy i am of my buy.. They're the nicest rim ive seen on a nova fullstop.. Im not bothered how much they effect handling as ive a set of fanblades for track day use.. the raffinos are simply for show use.. Im thinking on maybe getting them diamond cut... anyone know whats involved in this process?

Not for me TBH - certainly looking well considering age though! I remember the Max Power feature with the black Nova and Corsa GSI both on them, 1st in country on 17s - man they were high!

I liked them on that yellow Nova posted not that long back, they were anthracite, or where they Masitaly/Khan RSR? - the car had them nasty tit holders on the bonnet lol any one got the pic?

I don't understand Softstars! All the Nova/Corsa boys seem to love them - I think they look like a nasty dealer fit accesory rim TBH - unless I'm confusing with Sportstars? The ones I don't like look like them Nasty Millie Migila (spiders?)

Just my opinions! But hey, its nice to be different aint it - and I can appreciate what a rare find they are!

I think they look mint (But i'm biased!LOL!) but the car HAS to be lowered drastically and need quite a bit of archwork. When I had them on my purple valver, Fearless folded front and rear lips flat, then took fillets out of the inner rear arches so it couls be low.

This is how low it potentially could go without catching

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/RJM25R/87d47be6.jpg

This is how low you could really have it to drive hard

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v126/RJM25R/2a5a0b45.jpg

The handling didn't really seem that different ((****e before, ****e after LOL!)) but 0-60 was ****e, and the car tramlined with 205 tyres.

As noted, for a set of show wheels they look ace.
