View Full Version : Vernier Pulleys
whats the difference between a standard cam pulley and an aftermarket pulley?
is it the weight or size?
sorry to ask a dumn question
cheerz ta very mooch!
Sposed to be lighter.
Also they have the allen bolts so you can adjust the cam timing.
Its mainly to do with the adjustment... the timing can be set more accurately
with a vernier fitted
is it worth buying one then?
unless you have an uber silly cam spec then no not really.

this is true, providing the cam would need such work. I personally have gone back to a standard vernier as i didnt get any gains from an adjustable one on my particular engine
fair enough then ppl, i wont bother, ive only got a standard cam anyway, i was just curious, ill just paint my current one instead!
cheers ta very mooch all!
looks nice and shiny tho
Lol, i just sprayed my std pulley aluminium, and put a dab of red paint on the timing mark, looks rather good if i say so myself :)
And cost about ?2 to do,Lol.
