What tyre size?

Hello to all, what a great site:thumb:
just a quick post, i was wondering what the correct tyre size is for the 14" 3 spoke nova wheels as standard factory issue? I dont really like them but i have to use them as the calipers will catch with the 13" steels on:mad: i love the standard look!

My old ones were 165/55R14 but my current ones are 185/60R14.

mine are the same you will just about get away with 16v calipers on 14's but not v6 ones!!:thumb:

a set that i had were 175/55 14 i think!

ah, but im after the size they came from the factory with.

the origional size tyres were 175/65 HR 14 and the wheels are 5JX14!

185/60R14 Goodyear Eagle F1's.

175? mine are running 165/65 as standard. and pirelli p3000 arnet a bad tyre in this size.

Sr's etc were 165 but GTE was 175, both strangely were 65 profile?!? Best size to use is 185/60/14, they used to rub on my SR's standard arches when car loaded but think that was due to GSi 3 spokes(47.5mm offset) that were fitted

175/65x14 out of the factory but like (supernova!) said 185/55x14 is the size to go for;) ,same size as saxo vtr's use as standard so plenty of choice and not too dear,try some kumho KU31's as thats what i'll be running on my road rally car:thumb: shouldnt be dear i'd expect around ?35-40 fitted

Agreed, the 175 65s give too much sidewall flex, so I use 185 55 14 KU31 kuhmos (?34 a corner delivered). Use www.mytyres.co.uk to find the prices of different tyres, but the kuhmos aren't listed there at the moment.

just for reference, 14" alloys from Astras & Cavaliers etc are wider than the std Nova alloys by half an inch. Therefore better suited to 185 tyres. IMO 185/60 as mentioned is too wide for the 5" Nova rim.
