All the nova car loom is used.

Just use the XE engine loom.

Keep the nova starting/alternator loom.

thought as much, know all nova lighting loom, wipers, heater etc needed but what about plugs for water temp, brakefluid, etc? just confused as thought most of that would go to ecu but also clocks for warning lights etc?

The only wire than goes from ecu to dash light is the ECU light.

Brakefluid, wipers etc are on the car loom.

yeah can see they all on car loom but seem to join up to clocks etc, seems like the looms join together. dont wanna cut stuff out then find i need it!
think might run both looms, get car running and everything working properly then cut out all thats not being used.

What nova is it?
carb or injection?

Easy to wire if its carb or e16se.

If its SRi or Spi tho a bit more tricky, as you'll have to strip and remove the spi engine loom from the car loom.

think thats where im getting confused as gotta split the loom somewhere somehow.

You will have to take the dash out and trace the wires going to the spi ecu.
Rip out the ones going to the engine, but the ones like Perm 12v, Ign 12v etc you can join to the same colour wires on the XE loom.

cool so basically any wires going to the spi ecu can be binned??

Well the E16se has a removeable ecu loom.
So you just unplug the engine loom, remove the ecu and thats it, your engine loom is removed.

Then fit the xe loom in and wire about 6/7 wires into the car loom behind the dash.

Under the glovebox.
