Hi there im trying to put some GSi clocks into my J reg Nova (c12nz). evrythin works apart from the rev count as there is no wire to it, any idea where i can pick up a signal from to get it to work??? eg distributor, coil etc???????

ive just put a set of gsi clocks in my j reg nova, they plugged straight in, the rev counter wire is in the black plug, thatrs all you need to plug in

if that doesnt work then the wire might be broke or the clocks might be fooked

jope this helps

I thought rev counter wire was green? lol

Wire from the coil should do it.

Right, the wire which runs the Rev count is missing, maybe because the car i was putting it in does not have a rev count? i dont know, i am putting the GSi dials in my mk 2 J reg(C12NZ) but i tried them in my mates H reg (12ST) mk2. The multi plug in the back of the dials fits all correctly and it runs everything, apart from the rev count, i can see why because there is no wire in my loom to support a rev count. Yes i am a vauxhall mechanic but iv never worked on a nova because we never get them in as i work for a main dealer lol

ok, go look at the loom, there should be a lime bright green wire, this is the rev counter wire, if this is on your plug and it still doesnt work you must have broken clocks mate

no this is what im sayin, there physically is no rev count wire in my loom, i can see exactly where it would go though,if you look at the connector there is a pin missing (the rev count one) i was just wondering where i could pick up another signal from??

Bottom right spade terminal on the coil.
Run a wire from there to the tacho pin on the plug.
Some novas dont have the tach wire in the plug as std, but others do.

i just ran a new wire all the way from the green wire going into the coil to the back of my dash! then put a spade connector on it to the seperate terminal on the dash!
