i know... had the same experience last time when a lad went into the back of me as i was pulling in my drive... although i was lucky and my next door neighbour happened to be the assesor :)

i was thinking around the ?700 mark. juat bought so many new parts for it as well. i'm dreading the premium rise the most :(

maybe alert them to a handfull of similar cars for sale.

try & find some that are a grand (ish) in price.

i see no reason why an insurance boffin wont believe that they can fetch that sort of money. The car doesnt have a set value as such, its what someone is willing to pay.

Yours has the mods too, you keeping them? Give it a wash & hoover out too.

mods are all gone, bar the push button start and tacho, and the front tca sump guard mounts.

needs a clean, the inside is filled with pet litter where my pet rat's cage got crushed in the accident.

found a gte for ?1050... looking for some more at the moment. if anyone can find anymore, send them my way :)

Make sure those wires are properly tied up by the pedals, dont want the insurer's asking questions about whether DIY fitted wires got caught up in the pedals....

I always thought that they paid you a book price? Which for a nova is hardly anything.
They will only give a higher price if you had a Agreed Valuation policy..?

thats what i got told when my gfs SR got hit, it was mint aswell and he offered me ?105, and wouldnt let me keep the car, i slammed the door in his face lol

Thats what i was told too by my insurance company.
They would cover it for book market price(Foook all)
Or i could pay extra for a assessor to come out and agree on the car being good condition and worth much more than book price....

I got ?325 for my nearly mint white mk2 SR a couple of years bk they woulnt let me keep her afterwards so i refused the payout as it was worth more to me in bits and they finally gave in hehe, perseverence (sp) pays off in the end!!!

i had a mint mk2 1litre and i was the second owner with 36k on the clocks, eventually got ?700 out of them :) i'll work at it with the gte... just need some gte's for sale for silly money to help the cause...

yea the assesor offered me 4000 for my nova or would let me keep the car for 3800!

and still got nearly a grands worth of salvageable bits on it! :)

?4000 sounds a bit better than ?800...

oh well, i'll rebuild the top end and fit it to the 1.2i nova i buy. only a few salvagable parts, as bonnet and drivers wing are fooked, passenger wing has a little rust and is now scratched from the bonnet. boot is mint, but the paint is peeling on the spoiler. seats are dead as well, all rickerty... atleast i can wack my 16v brakes and ap rear shoes on my new nova when i get it. will prob sell the skirts as well, and the colour coded rear bumper.
