annoying rattle

Can anyone help Ive got a rattle coming from the engine bay when driving, anything that was loose is now secure and I cant see anything else that it could be. u can hear the rattle when your driving or coasting but stops when you brake could it be a knackered drive shaft

Need more info M8 ie does it do it when travelling if you cut the engine, etc. If it aint engine related and stops when you apply the brakes concentrate on them - check the pads, all fixings, suspension and the bearings..
Driveshafts problems are usually to do with the CV joints (except on Ians car!Lol) and thats a clunking noise.
Otherwise crawl underneath and check zorst fittings etc.

all bearings, bushes seem to be ok no unusual movement .havent tried cutting the engine yet but you can hear it with the clutch pressed , theres alot of play in one of the bushes on gear linkage but a mechanic friend is certain that its not that because it doesnt stop when u put side pressure on the gearstick
