common stuff really, check top of back box to see if its blowing, like my corsa does, check all lights, check brake lines for leaks, check rear wheels are spinning freely, check horn, check seat belts, cant think of anythng else!

for the mot id just sling it in and see what it fails on... saves lots of faffing about trying to fix something that isnt even tested etc.
