have decided seeing as i nearly lost my licence : http://www.novaload.net/forum/showthread.php?p=595478#post595478
im not going to get throttle bodies because ill definatly loose it with them on! am going to get Nitrous instead so the power is not always there and i can resist temptaion to use it all the time, but can have the power for at pod or trackdays. its going onto a c20xe with re map, filter exhaust and fse valve, can anyone advise on who to use and more importantly who to avoid? prices etc and your own experiences if youve goty nos on your motor. cheers.

Nitrous.

Wizard of Nos kits are good.

You want a wizzard of nos kits, thats what I use. A 100bhp shot with a progressive controller should do the job. If set up right it wont destroy your engine as most people think.

and check with your insurance that they are happy for you to have nitrous plumbed in.

ins are fine with it if its not for road use, which it wont be! how much is that set up phil? can u recomend anyone to fit it? how much is it to refil a bottle?

Adam

Its quite easy to fit yourself.

with progressive controller etc? how about setting it up?

Philsutton

Depends on size of bottle, we charge ?5 per lb of nitrous to refill, so for a 10lb bottle it would be ?50.

Fitting wise could be between ?100 - ?200 off the top of my head. To be honest though if your unsure about nitrous and settin up i would say leave it for someone else to do as its very easy to kill the engine if you havent a clue what your doing.

exacly id ideally like someone to do it all for me, what sixe bottle you think id need? its not going to be used loads, aslong as there is enough in it for say 6runs at pod? what sorta price am i looking at for the kit, progressive controller, fitting and set up?

Philsutton

a 5lb bottle should suffice

well last time we did one (was a while ago) it came to about 1k supplied and fitted but it depends on controller an that as well, as some of them can be 400+ themselves.

ooh and there was me thinking they'd be a lot cheaper than tbs. is the controller really needed?

Philsutton

you can get it alot cheaper by not buying a WON kit, but they are just that cheap and **** up quite a lot from past experience. The controller isnt needed but it just protects the enigne if going for high shots.

if your only 1/4 miling then Nitrous is the way really.

plus the stuff dosent really depreciate much so you wont lose much cash on the ahrdware as such. you'll mainly be paying for the gas...

WON kits are good, they do not have braided lines but dont let that put you off, there solenoids are very good quality! and I have never had one of their lines split on me and i ran 150bhp direct port for about a year on one of their kits trouble free. If your going to start using 100bhp and above tho i would really reccomend a controller.

Have fun

Keep scanning e-bay for Wizards of NOS kits, they come up every so often.

I got mine second hand off a mate with 11lb polished bottle with gauge, minimiser, solonoids, various jets and throttle switch for ?400 but he did me a very good deal there.

Philsutton
