cav shift /nova gear linkage

i ve fitted the cav shifter an welded the piece of the nova one to the end to mount it to the linkage
how far should the end piece with the clamp on slide on to the nova linkage ?

i got it on before about 10mm but it pulled its self off when selecting 4th etc should it go on so the linkage takes up the lentgh of the slot in the end of the rod ?

Yeah, if you do it so it takes up the length of the slot it should be ok. I had to alter the length of mine a couple of time untill it right, also gotta tighten it up loads on mines as well as it kept coming loose.
