Seeing as I'm now the proud owner of a 360 I think I'm actually gonna get off my **** and sort out some Broadband... I did hear on the radio about NTL offering broadband for ?10 a month.... will have to check the terms.

The reason behind ab8304.... woke up one morning and it was saved on my phone as an unsent message... I have no recolection of doing it so must have been sleep walking.

Fixed my 360 :D
It was a mates 360, had the three rings of death. So I bought it off of him to see if I could fix it and I have :D Believe it or not it has some bits from a C20XE in it nowlol

It probably already generates the same heat as a c20xe without the extra bits in it.

I just took it apart and fiddled ;)
I'm now looking in to making it run cooler. Since it hasn't cost me much I have no problems with modifying it a bit.

I have played Forza 2 and thought it was good, but I will wait a while. Plus I need to sort out a HDD and headphones for online play.

If your gonna make it cooler I'd suggest drilling more air holes in case.
I'd stay away from any aftermarket "intercoolers" as they actually tend to make the 360 run hotter due to sapping the power from them.

I would have thought the best course of action would be to rig up a fan unit with seperate power supply that you can direct through some extra holes to blow air across the internals. Might be worth double checking which way the internal fans work first as you don't them blowing against each other.

Thanks for the offer but I will get a headset.

Im thinking along the lines of a 120mm fan blowing air in to the case right next to the CPU. So cutting a 120mm circle in to the case and mounting the fan on the inside. Not sure it will fit yet. There is defo no space for this on top of the CPU. Also the main power unit for the 360 is outside of the case so if you draw a little more power it may make that part a little hotter but deffo not the GPU or CPU. Anyhoo as said these are just ideas since its a cheapo 360. I will be doing alot more research before I start cutting etc.

There was a particular time where I took cover against a corner of a wall, crept up to the edge to look round at the exact same time as someone else from your team did the same. I proper **** my pants and died consequently.

Incidently Dar I think there is a limit to how many free trials you can use. I'm not sure exactly how many it is though.

Microsoft recently admitted defeat and announced that there was a hardware fault with a lot of 360's. They have now extended the warranty to 3 years for the three red lights of death fault.

Definately worth giving them a call and trying to blag a new one.

Im part tempted by the Elite, but ive run out of HDMI connections on my amp and the black wont look nice next to the Wii and white HD DVD drive lol.

i had the 3 red lights on mine, so i went online and found out what to do, you contact xbox (or whoever u want to call them) and tell them whats wrong, they send you a email with a postage slip for tnt a think, who come and collect the xbox from you (dont package it in the original box as you dont get it back) then what feels like 2 months later you get either your old xbox back fixed or a replacement. mine came back with a new cd drive and a new motherboard fitted , all at no cost to me

When you complete it and the end credits roll wait as there's an extra level.
I'd recommend trying it on Hardened as the other skills levels are too easy.
