after a disaster with lifters when i put a new head on a few months ago, i finally got round to putting the old head on, with the old lifters, and it all runs nice and quiet! gonna give it a nice run to cheshire oaks tomorrow for the sales, and i might stop at demon tweeks on the way back for a look around! just thought i'd share it with you, as it took me all of ten hard minutes to polish the cover up:D

what can i say, it was getting late! tok it out on tuesday, and got a comfortable 110mph(on my clock, so probably about 85!) for the first time. but i wont be doing that again, it just surprised me how a little bit of work goes a long way

What did you use to clean the cam cover up mate?

wire brush on a die grinder/dremel multi tool thingy, and then polished it with metal polish (for some reason isopon springs to mind??)

and stu--its probably only a placebo effect, but i think it sounds better without it (theres a k&n filtercharger in there) but its probably just me!

Yeah it will sound better without the handle, but it will be sucking hot air straight in thats rising from the head/cam housing.

oh well, cant be that bad can it..............

jk i know its bad, i'll sort some sort of cold air feed soon, maybe some of that expanding silver piping from halfords, then i could follow it with some of those colour coded hose covers, hmmmmm, you got me thinking now........*ahembullsh1tahem*
