a question about tilt an slide sunroof

on the tilt an slide sunroof how is the black sunround/frame around the glass mounted to the car ?does it mount to the roof or part of the sunroof mech?

the whole lot is bolted to the roof with about 30 million 8 mm bolts lol, so the slider, glass an all the mechanism all comes out as one.

is there away i could remove al the the mech but keep the frame from around the glass in place ?

The mechanism is bolted to the shell - the glass is bolted in 4 places to the mechanism ergo no mechanism nothing to bolt the glass to.

You could silicone the glass in the aperture but thats a bit of a bodge to be honest.

is the black frame around the glass (looking from the outside) attached to the roof ?
i want to keep the black frame remove the glass an fit an metal plate were the glass was (i inttend to use a spare bonnet that is the same colour as car using the glass as a template ?

Dont think you will get the glass to part with the frame tbh.

Can the sunroof be removed without tilting or sliding it back. Mine only tilts half way & I'd like to sort it!
