which gasket should i use if im puttin on a 1.4 inlet onto a 1.2? Also i have a slight air leak on the lnlet so could this cause my coolant system to be over pressurizing? Because ive had to fill it up everyday for the last three days?
What 1.2 is it? Carb?
A 1.4 inlet on a 1.2carb head will be MEGA restrictive.

the only reason i changed the inlet is so that the weber i bought will fit properly!
Its mega restrictive because the 1.4 inlet has tiny square runners and ports, whereas the 1.2/1.3 inlet has bigger runners and much larger ports.
You need a 1.3 inlet as that has the same shape ports as your 1200 carb head.

will this therefore cure my air leak? as i presume the 1.2 gasket wouldnt be as snug as the 1.4 one? And what about the coolant system? cheers
Doubt it would cure the airleak, are the manifold studs fully tightened?
What inlet gasket are you using?
Where is the air leak? Near the inlet coolant gallery?

im using a 1.2 gasket, its on the 2nd cylinder so its quite near the coolant gallery! Yeah there fully tightened. i'll speak to me mate about gettin his old 1.3 inlet tomorrow.
The coolant gallery is over to the side of cylinder one...
Maybe the gasket is leaking, explaining the coolant loss.
