Air Filter coming out of the bonnet???

Anybody know what them metal air filters are called you see on muscle cars coming out of the bonnet. The same as the one in fast nd the furious on vin diesels black muscle car. I just need to know the technical name for them if anybody can help.

Std fit ones are Shaker hoods. Hemi pony cars usually had them (Challengers, 'Cudas); this is one on a Hemi 'Cuda:

Works the same as any other bonnet scoop (think Impreza, Caldina, ST185, Pulsar GTiR, etc) except instead of being part of the bonnet it sits on the air filter and pokes through a hole in the bonnet. Hence the name; as being part of the engine instead of the bonnet, it shakes with the engine.

You can buy superchargers from american ebay, no doubt there's a whole load of blowers available over there too. What engine is it going onto? Most of the American stuff would be designed to fit on V8's I'd guess, if you're looking for a charger to fit something else then you're probably better off sourcing a local unit and if you reeeallly want the blower then mod it to fit (if you can).

I am taking the liberty of assuming you want an actual supercharger and blower, not just the fake stick on one.... lol!
