Nah, think its away for the winter due to salty roads!

I've been out in it every day/night this week, built it to drive it, not have it on the road 3 months a year!

Sensible head says get it off the road you tit but I can't help taking it out for a blast! Tb roar seems louder on these cold days!

Moffat, not much planned, will probably have it off the road a week or 2 replacing the steering rack/doing some sneaky things that I ain't telling Wilson about! :thumb:

small update, not much been happening with this, just enjoying driving it throughout winter etc and kind of taken a back seat since i got the vectra in feb, changed a few things in the engine bay, now have the same paint scheme on the plug cover from before the rebuild and just fitted a stainless washer bottle (thanks NickJ!) a few things really begining to annoy me about the bay, the red pulleys now look very out of place against the blue anodised bits (couldnt get blue at the time!) and i need to get a new coil pack mount as the chocolate sbd one is cracked and rusting like a *******. there is also oil seeping from one of the threaded studs where the distributer used to be! waiting 4 weeks now for a new quaife rack as my one has developed a fair amount of play. got a new rocker cover to go on as that one was only meant to be temp and the whole car needs a good clean up and polish ready for billing!

Nah wasn't a fan of the types of washer bottles available, the etchings were a bit cheesy but as this one is completely etch free I though fcuk it it's a one-off and if I don't like it i'll probably get most of my money back anyway! Not been out in the car, been waiting 5 weeks on a replacement kwik rack from quaife!

update,

been busy changing the exhaust for a more flowing setup and repairing the manifold which took a beating from sitting so low along with some other tweaks including replacing the kwik rack with a new quiafe one and finally nailing an oil leak!

cut a little section out the sump which allowed for the manifold to be raised 1.5inch. also knocked up a bracket which supports the manifold andfixes onto the rear of the block.

wee update,

was sent to new york & texas with work at short notice and never got round to finishing the last update etc, shaved a bit of the middle box as it was too low and couldn't go any higher but worth it for the lack or exhaust noise. got the car back along to the mapper to check everything is still ok and adjust if required but it was fine gained and extra 3bhp at peak so we're now putting out 211.1bhp, got the graph somewhere and will fire it up. pretty surprised tbh, now to try and find 10.9bhp! :wall:

Never re-fitted the slam panel brace when i did the crossmember 4yrs ago and there was slight flexing at higher speeds so fixed that with a simple removable stainless one from round bar, was more to do with not wanting to weld to the crossmember (and burn up the powdercoating on the inside and then rust etc) rather than for access but will be handy for radiator removal i suppose.

Not much changed with this but recently swapped the anodised blue cup washers on the rocker cover for black ones to make it a bit more clean and after the fan packed in at the quarter mile queue i fitted twin slims on the front, just thrown on due to lack of fixings and a show coming up at the time but will get more and straighten them up!

seats are really comfortable compared to bogo gsi seats, first thing me and my passenger noticed when taking it for the mot after the build! more @ss padding which helps! :thumb:

they're basically cut and welded! i didn't do it so don't know what exactly cut from where etc although i may have them out over the winter for a re-jig! try getting them slighty lower and closer together if possible

this week i'll be raising the rear i think and spending a bit of time adjusting the way the front bumper sits as i've not been happy with it for a while and having recently adjusted the grill it now sits even worse!

so tweaked the bumper today and got it sitting better, still not 100% happy with the front end but it'll do for now.

before, hard to believe the grill movement made so much difference, it's almost like the bumper has dropped, never used to be this bad but i didn't notice it until pv lol

This way once you've nipped up all the bolts & let it down, the sag should give the gap you want.

Cool, yep I'll be the tall one hanging around vxdc/Vauxhall sports car stand. Yeah I had a go at it last year as I wasn't happy then but couldn't push it up any further but as I said earlier when I fixed the grill prior to pv the slightly noticeable gap became huge and I only noticed it en route to pv!

Got the good old dremel out and elongated (vertically) the fixing holes in the chassis leg

Yeah that's how I did it in the past although I used one to push the bumper up and the other on the rachet but I'd hit the limits or adjustment so had to do some modding.

Cheers mate, yeah I think it's knackered as the adjustment doesn't work either, will try and pick up new headlamps and indicators at billing, these were all new gm stuff in 08 too!

Got a couple of small things done in the last two days including oil change, tracking, exhaust rubber replaced, a couple of blown instrument bulbs that had annoyed me for ages and the front breather pipe at the dipstick. 7am start tomorrow, should get there around 2-3pm.
