Right, a K&N, full zorst, 1.3sr cam and gearbox is goin on my 1.2 mk2.

the thing is...what gearbox is in a standard 1.3sr? is it any good? is there a better gearbox i can get from a different nova that will help with acceleration? will it fit straight onto the 1.2?

if money isn't an object get an f13 box and quaiffe six speed gearset for it.

Saw it advertised yesterday v nice.

what is the f13 box off? and how much can i pick one up 4 second hand? will it fit straight in? what acceleration gains will i get? so many questions...so little time

I think the best option for you is to get an f10cr off of a 1.4sr. I think the 1.3sr box is too long for the power output of a 1.2. The f10cr will do 30, 55, ?, 100, 130. The 1.3sr box tends to have a very long 4th that goes up to almost the same speeds as the 5th in an f10cr, so you would struggle to accelerate well in 4th gear.

Does that make sense?

BTW I enquired about the Quafie gearsets for the F13/15 (my Nova likes gearboxes y'see) and Quaife quoted me about a grand plus a little - thats for the helical cut gears and not the noisey straight cut jobs...

Not worth the money unless you are gonna be pushing out serious BHP = like >150. And in any case - as soon as you do that you are in shell strengthening territory!!

I heard that the Corsa 1.4sri box was one of the best to go for, I dont know what code taht is(F13cr,F10cr etc.) but apparently it is one of the better ones for acceleration.
