right my 1.2carb engine is running really bad, it has started running really ritch and drinking all of my petrol. i have checked the plugs, put a new dizzy cap on.

i noticed that sometimes the carb or near spits what looks like air or air+fuel out, it is from around the breather that comes from the brake servo, could this be leaky

i havent changed the carb in any way, it just happend over a few days or so, any help appreciated

Does it still run 'smooth'? Mine (also a 1.2 carb) had a vaccuum leak from thebrake servo hose recently so i ended up using lots of fuel because i had my foot flat down everywhere.

Check that the where the vaccuum line meets the intake manifold is sealed (plumbers PTFE tape?) and replace the grommet where the hose meets the brake servo itself.

Mine also seems a bit more economical since I cleaned the carb.

ok cheers mate, ive cleaned the carb a few weeks back and it did improve mpg allong with fitting a new dizzy cap. it seems to be running better now so it probably is that vaccum pipe. cheers
