Oil leak

Got a leak coming from where the oil filter screw onto on a c20xe engine, the engine is in a nova and has no oil cooler, is this a sandwich plate that its leaking from? can i unscrew it and screw the filter directly on?

Look like its leaking out of a thredded bit with what looks like a massive bleed nipple coming out where the oil filter screws on.

I finally got under there and had a good look, turns out it was leaking from the oil pressure sensor, not where i was thinking, given it a good tighten and its fine now i think!
