Thats with no springs though... lol If you want that low you'd want rear coilovers.

Coilsprings.co.uk will re-wind existing springs I believe, to make them shorter. But as said, you're probably better off with coilovers for extreme drops

i think they were about 350-400quid includin delivery, something like that!

before i had spax 60mm springs and standard dampers, so it was a great upgrade in handlein! and it seemed to cusion the sharp bumps more than before but is still a very firm ride!i was proper happy with them, looked blinging aswel :D

cool thread, low low novas are (luckily) quite rare, i kinda like the way its not easy or cheap to do - keeps it that bit more special.. anyone dare'd airbags?? i wouldn't and it doesnt really 'suit' but, have a butchers at the vag/euro/cleaned boys and its tempting to do..
Sorry for swearing, lol.. might have to donate a piccy myself from my archives...

Seen this in Jan's Total Vaux, my favourite Nova at the moment, just looks immaculate. Has made me consider dropping down to 14's but don't think valver brakes would be big enough for me.

Aamir
22-12-06, 09:28 AM
Don't do 14's unless they're deep dish & diamond polished, the car loses its side profile. Go for 15's with diamond cut finish or mirror polish :D ;) & get some tyres stretched over the rims like this.......

Would also be able to keep the V6 288mm brakes then with 15's so suppose its worth considering.

They all look like the should be sitting in the scrapyard - fcuked bodywork needed also though! lol - looks like they're sitting on the inner arches IMO!

I'm a fan of v low - but then there's too low!

Digging the 20" cav turbo rims on the white mk2 also, gotta loves photoshop :thumb:

26-12-06, 01:49 PM
lol....i want to take a nova around 100mm on fk coilovers,or more if its possible.....

L14MNP
26-12-06, 01:56 PM
Going from what I've read on here, I'd say that's possible mate. Mod the inner arches (hammer) and the tarmac's the only 'bumpstop' :Dlol

IMO 60mm front (shocks and springs if you are a tight **** lol) and 80mm rear is adequate when you have a big block to bring the front down that little bit more :thumb:

Can't argue with the versatillity that comes with c/o's though - never had any on my Nova - but my Nissan's ones give me a hard on lol (jk)

DO IT

sri_boi
26-12-06, 02:08 PM
im thinking of gettin coilovers...but price is just to much, could i get some shortend shocks and get some 80mm front and 100mm springs made at customsprings.....

would that be ok you think? or is coilovers the best bet if i want to go that low and not have any troubles....

L14MNP
26-12-06, 02:16 PM
I would say for what you would pay for a set of decent uprated shocks and full set of custom springs mate that you should go for coilovers - maybe second hand?
You don't want to own yourself with a permanently fixed street sweeper imo - things change! - you may get speed bumps near your house or something!

sri_boi
26-12-06, 02:22 PM
i have already, theres 3 ways to my house, 1)speed bumps for 350 yards 2) speed bumps for 120 yards and 3) is one speed bump but i can cut across a pub car park lol!!!

savs_redtop

This is my nova lowered 60mm at front and 100mm at the back on 16`s. I brought my rear springs from www.coilsprings.co.uk (http://www.coilsprings.co.uk) costing about ?112 including delivery. I have taken the back seats out which has made it slightly higher but now im thinkin about goin lower because I personally dont think its low enough, ive grinded the lip on the back arch and it does not scrape at all, it scrubs a little on the mudflap at the front on full lock.:thumb: http://i126.photobucket.com/albums/p90/savs_redtop/nova1.jpg

Evening chaps -this is my car, nice pic of it too. It is indeed the original breeze blue colour but it has had a full respray by an awesome painter. It came out slightly brighter and a lot flatter but over time it seems to slowly darken. I like the colour so much that it has just been repainted in it again but as a bare shell this time.

Good mate - I have a freshly painted bare shell sitting here now, just had a garage built too so pretty soon it will be going back together - FINALLY!
I have almost all the parts I need so hopefully it will be back at some point this year all being well.

Photoshopped ones all look excellent, well done !

On the vdub scene their cars are like that (slammed), no need for photshops :( the drop is as important as having wheels :D
