I may be getting a 2l 8v soon and was thinking about a few things:

Is it a c20seh? (no real reason just couldnt think of the engine code, wanted to check)
Would my nova 1.2spi driveshafts fit?
Would it fit my nova mounts straigh in? (im pretty sure it should be a straight in jobby)

Now heres a tricky one, could i fit an XE head to it? I hear a lot of people say no, however ive seen it done in TV a long while back, when i had more interest in my car! Im sure the engine was in a cav and was a c20seh.

What real mods could be done the engine for gains, also what gearbox does it have.

All help greatly appreciated as usual:)

Cheers:thumb:

lot more work involved than just dropping the 16v head on it

your 1.2 shafts wont fit, you need a set of 22 splined shafts from a gte/early gsi.. or uprated one's with new hubs

you need a conversion kit. chris astley supplies good kits and are only about ?50. Then you need 22 spline shafts as mentioned before with (cav mk2 etc)inner cv's. i would advise a bigger radaitor from a gsi or the astra. Also you will be able to run your original fuel pump and tank but would really advise to put a mpi tank in etc etc. hope it helps. any more questions feel free to ask.:thumb:

yep, same conversion as an XE. Lots of people turbo the 8v for some reason, and we all know turbos are cool. the C20SEH - iirc is 130bhp and was fitted to mk2 cav's. the engine in the astra would be a C20NE - 115bhp?? or a C20SE - 122bhp??

Ahh screw that then the only reason i really asked is cus it was local and thought it was a straigh in job! Cheers for all the answers tho:thumb:
