Not sure where to put this, so admin feel free to move...

I've got a Mk2 dash to go into the saloon, complete with all the ducting to direct air to the side vents on the dash. However, the Mk1 heater doesn't have the holes cut out on the sides for the ducts to attach to. On my old saloon I just left the ducts off, but on this one I'd like to have heat to the side vents if I can. Will it be a case of replace this part with a Mk2 item so the ducting can attach; can I cut the holes in the existing one (as it looks like the shape is there, just not cut); or will I need to replace most/all of the heater bits and bobs?

Not a great explanation I know, but I'm sure anyone who's put a Mk2 dash into a poverty spec Mk1 will know what I mean lol

Well you got nothing to lose by cutting the hole out have you? If it works, fair play, but if it dont you would of had to change the heaterbox anyway. Give it a go, disc cutter any1?lol

I would swap your standard desert eagle for a chrome one with diamonds on the butt.... sorry!!!

If the shape is there then I'd say you could quite easily cut it and you'll be onto a winner.... maybe a dremel with a small grinding stone would be easiest.... BOW TO THE POWER OF THE DREMEL (or any other leading brand of multitool)

If you remove that lower cover you can cut the holes out, I did on my old saloon when I replaced the dash for an 'L' spec one, but if you have one with the holes in just swap it over.

You can have my MK2 matrix when you turn up Jack, that'l solve the problem!

By the way, it cant be this weekend as i have to bloody work, but maybe the weekend after? You could pop in on your way to Cheltenham?

Sounds like a plan; I think I'd rather replace than cut as I usually get a little trigger happy when chopping things :D

I'll probably have Craig in tow as well, so we could stop by for a mini meet on the way up lol
