also whats the difference btween the 2 different injection systems on the gsi's and what should the first few mods be?

the 1st uses Bosch Jetronic and the later uses Multec. The Multec produces slightly more power but also uses a cat. In the end u just get +2bhp!
Both system are very good however i'd go with the 2nd as everything is automatic (COs level, idle etc).
A modded airbox and an exhaust are recomended external engine mods!!

there is also the very late one with the coil pac and astra gsi style injection parts very rare on late K/L reg
