When I had my Cav Gsi I used to get 40ish mpg on the motorway at 70mph. But with a heavy right foot around town it would drop below 30mpg (Cav GSi`s have a fuel computer). When I say 30+mpg I mean being driven properly, and with the sound of 40`s your foot is glued to the floor all of the time. Now with all of my mods, the Nova was quicker than the Cav so I think that the fuel consumption is justified. My insurance went up from ?350 standard to ?500 with all mods accounted for like wheels suspension 40`s exhaust etc etc..... which isnt bad. I am 23 though.

Read what I typed earlier! 30+mpg. Weber 32/34 is twin choke as in a second flap opens to supply the same air path with more air which is spread between all four cylinders. 40`s each supply a seperate cylinder.

I've just fitted a 32/34 carb on my Nova, and so far fuel consumption seems pretty good. Even including the fuel I wasted swapping over the carb, plus a fucker of a leak I had afterwards ('till I got a new jubilee clip), and fuel wasted revving and running it during the tune up it still did over 28mpg. Usually, I got 35mpg with my old Pierburg 1B1, which is caning it 90% of the time, so I'll have to see how the Weber compares over the next few weeks.
Oh, and it was running seriously rich for a couple of days 'till I got it set up, and I did make use of the extra power (of which there is lots), so the average of 28mpg was pretty good.
I'm expecting at least 35mpg in normal driving.

how much would a 32/34 cost and is a new manifold needed? do any 32/34's fit or are there specific ones for specific engines?

any m8, but u do need the correct adaptor bracket or the moded inlet manifold! Most peops use the adapter as it does a good enough job! That was my first engine mod ever and i loved it, i got loads more mpg's on the motorway cruisin, but u use more if u cane it cuz it can put in more fuel than the pierburg!! Also if u get a filter for it, it really does sound mean!!!!! I used to get loads of booming on the motorway, and sounds mint when u have ur foot down and both chokes open!!

I usually get between 300 and 350 miles for ?30 which works out at roughly 35 Mpg with 32/34 and K+N. Should get slightly better fuel economy with new head.
