Hi guys, has anyone ever had the problem where the tachometer makes a clicking noise, if so what was done to rectify it.
P.s i have already bought a new spedo cable which i need to instal, as the logical thing to do is to replace that 1st?
Is the re settable mileometer working properly, mine does this when I've re set the mileage to 000 and the thing clicks every 10th of a mile as the number on the right hand side gets stuck for some reason.
Drive it up and down the road and observe this in action, if its not going round, press it til it works right
mine clicks too mine is not a gm part so thats what im thinkin maybe coursing it jst turn the stereo up then ya don't here it lol
Yeah its usually the odometer turning.
mine satrted clicking then it snapped, i fitted a new one, then it started clicking, then it snapped again lol

I've had hell with speedo cables, make sure you get a GM part, and if you're using clocks with a tach, make sure you feed the speedo cable up the left hand side of the steering column. My original mistake was to not do that when I changed the clocks so I kinked my original cable lol.
i had my odo click at 9.9 miles... a "rough" few presses of the reset button fixed it..

so its looks like a common problem, well i just had a look at the speedo i bought from ebay, i remeber the add saying it was a GM part and never really bothered to check if it really was when i got it, but its not, manufactured by first line, no gm stickers or part number.
When i was on the motorway had a bash at pressing the journey meter a few times but didnt help, i know how it can stick at times, and if it isnt pressed properly it doesnt work altogether:)
what is a price of a GM cable if anyone know? might not bothered with this one then as it cost about a fiver with PP.
P.S The click is only audio when you do 30-40mph onwards.

Yeh ?40 Plus The Vat Damn!!!!!, Thats Crazy, Well The Guy At Vauxhall Advised To Check The Cable As It Sometimes Comes Away From The Instruments As Refered To In The Haynes (i.e. The Clocks) Theres A Retaining Clip On The Back Which Dispostions The Cable Hence The Clicking, Maybe Its Worth A Look,:)

My local dealer said around ?25, I can't remember the exact amount now. I got one from a corsa at a scrappy anyway for a fiver.
