Please Help! Damsel in distress!

:cry: Ok! This will possibly sound daft but Im a damsel in distress! I have a bog standard 1.2 D reg nova, shes been running fine for about 2/3 weeks since i got her then suddenly shes started dying on me. It wont idle at all no matter how long shes been running and keeps coughing and spluttering occassionly while running. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

My car had the same problems as yours before I got the carb cleaned and set up properly. It might be a good time to re new the spark plugs, HT leads, Dizzy cap, rotor arm etc too!

Have you let the fuel level get quite low? Its possible some gunk has been sucked into the carb. Could be carb icing, but thats usually only a problem once the car is driving along. And as said check dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs, leads etc, and the earth connections.
