Hello! i was wondering what all the differences where when they released the GTE + GSI's. Not bothered interior wise, but what about exterior and running gear?

Cheers

GSi had black dash as standard

like draper said gte is mk1 and gsi mk2 so bumpers are more square on mk1 gsi has more of newish rounder bumpers
the mk1 was suppose to be a more solid shell too

ive just seen a pic of a GSI bumper on GTE with the GTE grille, etc. It looked quite good.

GTE rear bumper is the daddy with the lower skirt :)

the GSi is quite a plain rear bumper...and i prefer the wrap-around spoiler to the sticky out GSi one

yeah i prefer the gte spoiler too. GSI one doesnt look that good IMO. I just wanted a rearwards facing exhaust.

Fit a rear box for a GSi to a GTE and it'll come out straight :thumb:

If you have a GTE rear bumper you'll need to chop the lower valance though.

then i will be left with the hole for the GTE side exit. So i will probably chnage the bumper too.

running gear wise, the driveshafts were different, the brakes were the same till late gsi's got ATE calipers.

GTE's & Early GSis had the E16SE. The later GSi's had the C16SE.

Electric windows were std on the GSi but a cost option on GTE.

Alloy wheels were std on the GSi & a cost option on GTE's

GTE used a Bosch ECU wheras the same engine in the GSi had a Siemens ECU & had 1 extra sensor & an oil temp sensor, not a temp switch.

GSi headlamps had load level adjustment.

Clear fr indicators as std.
