i aint sure wether to get a 2.0 8/16v rather have 16 jus more money but herd that could fit a 16v head straight on , whats the 0-60 and topspeed on a normal nova not stripped with an 8v and 16v, cheers :thumb:

why topspeed,

at your age you dont want to get caught "flat out" do you?

Personaly i would rather have power down low and mid range rather then balls out high revvy power.. coz c'mon lets face it how often are you going to get 130-40 saftly everyday

also i remmber you sayin that fueling was youre biggt problem with a c20xe.. so all them high revs aint gonna be light on feul eh?

a 16v head wont just "bolt straight on" for the BAF involved you might aswell sell the 8v engine and fit a 16v one when the time comes and you want to change.

yup spose so, no one has said what the 0-60 times are lol.....

it varies so damn much due to stripped/not stipped ice/no ice, tired 16v engine vs bomb proof 8v, exhaust manifolds etc etc

alsso 0-60 is a ghey measure of a cars performance... 1/4 mile times or 30-100times are a more reliable performance tester.
plus what does it really matter anyway. just bulid what the hell you want and find out...

what about putting an 8v head on a 16v bottom end or vice versa?
saw a couple of guys on mig done it and seen a couple or rally boys done it

as i said on msn, mine had a 20seh in it before it spun a shell and its a quick engine, plenty of power through the rev range.
the xe is in now and about ready to start up, ill let u know how much difference there is between the 8v and 16v within the next week lol
cheers

I would guess Ste Porters 2.0 8v is a bit quicker than a 1.6 8v GTE. It makes sense.
Judging by your questions you dont have much of a clue mechanically so I'd avoid swapping heads etc from engine to engine.

Why cant you just put up with a 1.6 8v GTE engine & have a play in that?

thought you didnt like txt talk lol?

Personally i would keep the 1.6 gsi play with that you will get a bigger kick in the pants when you have worked on the engine yourself and you think wow when i done this it gave me urber performance :):thumb:
