I kno I Kno its been asked loads of times... but the search does'nt seem to find much for me....


anyway on sunday i shall be getting my new engine

1600 8v with full ashley system (i think its ashley) an some twin 40s(no manifold)

i had a redtop ready to go in but insurance is a killer lol


anyway i was wondering, where sells tuning bits for my 1.6 8v

i'll need

manifold for the carbs + linkcages
a cam
anthink else you lads would recomend?

also if any1 in my area knows of any places to get it set up? etc..

www.tuning.co.uk/vauxshop/ sells all the parts needed for the 40 conversion :)

A 4-2-1 manifold would work very well with the cam and 40's.

catcams for a cam...

aim above 285degrees and max out at about 300degrees. and NO it wont idle badly unless your RR setup is done by spastics

yeah i kno lot of people dont liek cams but me like to say get it set up rite :thumb:



what can i get dont to the head? bigger valves? P+P?

the head is fine for what you want....

people get all hung up on porting (ignore polishing) as its an option on GT lol... its not vital imho, unless youve had bigger valves or have a genuinely crap flowing head
