nova not running sweet!

when i start my nova from cold it doesnt want to idle and just cuts out, also it doesnt sound too healthy. it sound like it is only running on 3 cylinders but when it is warm its fine. it never used to do this?? Any help much appreciated. cheers

Think about half is correct.

about 3 quaters of the way out. it needs to be about there to idle. if its too far in or out she just cuts out. when she is warm it is perfect. maybe its just because its cold?

Maybe the carb needs a good clean, including jets and then have the idle speed, timing and mixture set correctly. I have been recently having this problem and after having this done, it runs a bit sweeter. I think the good summer weather had compensated for its rough running and now its a bit colder and damper, it brings out all the problems!

cheers. will try that sometime. I am going to give the nova a right good service and get it minted and make sure all the parts are working the way they should. I have got 3 years before i am aged to drive though. Plenty time to work on her!:thumb:

The dismantling, cleaning, reassembly and setting up of the carb took about 2 hours iirc.
